MASTER SWORD!!!!!

I am just going to state this in the beginning

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!

I finally got my favorite sword of all time.

THE MASTER SWORD!!!

I just love the damn thing.  I also had a feeling the entire time that I was going to be slowly making the Master Sword as the game went on.  And now that I have it, I AM EXCITED!!!

I don't know what I love it so much, but I think its because I don't consider it a Zelda game until that bitch is unleashed.

Top this all off with the time travelling element (common with Zelda games since the different dimension traveling of Link to the Past) and this bitch has gotten GOOOOOD.

The sudden realization of what/who Zelda is has also brightened things.  Can I say that I am surprised??

No.

But knowing where this game falls in terms of the Zelda timeline it helps make a lot of sense now.

I love back stories to games and when legends and prophecies occur.  I don't know why but it makes me as giddy as a school girl.  Its exciting.  Its probably the history lover in me, but learning this stuff is like uncovering some deep dark secret that has been kept for forever.  Or better yet, a new myth that you are reading that totally captivates you and pulls you in.

Oh yeah.  I am going to like this a lot.

Its time for Link to kick some ass.

Gotta love those earrings

So after my post last night I got myself to put in a good hour on Zelda, and I can easily say I got the feeling once again.

I think what happened was I had not played in awhile and I was starting to lose that lure of the game.  I got over that last night real quick.

Got some items, cruised through a temple, did some fighting.  You know how it be.

SPOILER ALERT!!

I finally got these nifty little earrings that allow one to go into the center of the volcano.  It reminds me of the Varia Suit from Super Metroid, or the different tunics you can get from Link to the Past.

I am glad though that I am fighting monsters that are not electric anymore, cause hitting them and being stunned all the time freaking blows.  I kept getting screwed over like that and before I knew it I had just 3 hearts left.  I am down with the fire bats and their fire brethren.

Something that is interesting to Skyward Sword is how you can select which items to bring with you at a time.  The previous Zelda titles that I have played have always allowed you to carry everything of yours at once, with only your sword, shield, bombs, tunic, boomerang (best weapon EVER!!) to upgrade.

Skyward however limits the items that you can bring with you, and almost everything of yours can be upgraded to some extent.  It can be a bitch however it awakens the RPG player inside me.  I LOVE IT.  I am a little crazy cause I love upgrading things.  I check my app store all the time to look for updates.  I like to take things apart and repair them or making them better.  I guess its the inner man in me.

So when you present this option in Zelda, you know I am THERE.

There is not much of a challenge in collecting the items needed to upgrade things.  I mean its as easy as just driving a mile down the road to the Home Depot to purchase things (BAM).  Its definitely a lot easier than FFXI, but that is a different story.

Back to what you can carry or not, I find myself in a predicament.  I am having to carry water back and forth from a waterfall, and I only have 3 bottles, which only one of is empty.  I won't empty the other two cause they have fairies in them and that shit saves your life.  So I am running back and forth, back and forth, back and forth.  Need to find that fourth bottle.  Yet then I have to rearrange what I can bring with me, and that will just piss me the hell off.

Decisions decisions.

SPOILER ALERT OVER!!

Zelda: The adventure continues

So I have made it to the wonderful part of Zelda games in which you get the three main temples done, find their treasures, head back to the starting point only to find out you have to find more treasures.  Its a dynamic that I have found in Zelda games since at least A Link to the Past.

I actually enjoy how they have it set up in the games.  I can see how some could be a little annoyed at this knowing that you are going to have to keep adventuring, yet I have always enjoyed the second sets of temples. I find them to be sometimes a little darker and the rewards cooler.

Spoiler Alert!!!

Like in Skyward Sword, after completing the first flame I find myself with a longer sword.  Maybe that flame had the magical Viagra in it who knows.   The main thing is I get a whip which makes finding things a lot interesting, plus I got that dragon scale (see earlier post about swimming in Zelda).

I did find out just now that when you do a dowse with one thing and try to take on another quest it seems to overwrite you previous dowse.  Kind of sucked cause I was looking for the 2nd flame and I look at doing a quest for Fun Fun Island and find myself not having the earlier dowse.  Back to the Isle of Songs I have to go, but is this a reason for me to stop playing??????

Short answer: No

I do find myself resting though cause my arm gets quite tired from all the damn swinging and cutting.  I got them mad sword skills.
